Erin Schaenzer is a 23-year-old printmaker and collage artist born in Saginaw, MI. She studied Printmaking in Grand Rapids, MI, where she currently lives, and achieved her BFA in May of 2017 from Kendall College of Art and Design. Her work deals with ideas of love, loss, human nature, relationships, and the unknown. She uses printmaking, mostly photo transfer, as a jumping off point to then create complex yet balanced collage pieces.
Erin was given the Studio Excellence Award in Printmaking for her graduating class, and has shown work both internationally and locally. She was a part of the 2016 Student International Print Show in Cairo, Egypt at El Minya University, as well as the International Biennial Print Exhibit at the National Taiwan Museum of Arts the same year. Erin was recently selected to complete a 2-week artist residency in Tuscany, Italy at The Lemon Tree House Residency this October. She is currently a part-time artist and part-time cheesemonger and Aperitivo in the Downtown Market in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
